| FFA Visits the South Carolina State House | ||

On Wednesday, April 30th, 2025 a few of our PDA FFA Members had the opportunity to visit the S.C. State House. We listened to remarks from S.C. Commissioner of Agriculture Hugh Weathers and Governor Henry McMaster, both of whom emphasized the critical role that agriculture and youth leadership programs like FFA and 4-H play in shaping the future of South Carolina. As part of the visit, they proudly presented plants to be planted on the grounds of the State House and the Governor’s Mansion, symbolizing our commitment to growth and service. Throughout the day, they mingled with key figures in our state’s government, including Senator Kent Williams, Representative Lucas Atkinson, and lobbyist Billy McLeod. We also connected with fellow South Carolina FFA members and state staff, further strengthening our sense of community and shared purpose within agricultural education. |

| Over the Christmas Break, Coach Ed Blackburn hosted his 2023 Golden Eagle Gathering at Woodhaven in Marion. Alumni and current students from the Classes of 2013-2024 who have achieved a 100 final grade in either Physics or Econ attended. |

| Career Explorations Class Field Trip to Boeing | |

| OnTuesday, Sept 12, 2023 Mrs. Heather’s 8th grade Career Exploration class took a field trip to Charleston, SC to visit Boeing, where the 787 airplanes are made. This program provides an opportunity for students to see how their skills and interest can be applied in the work force. Boeing has several opportunities for high school students and recent graduates to enter the workforce and then further their education. | |

Jacob Rouse Earns Scholarship Congratulations to PDA Senior Jacob Rouse on earning a $1,000 scholarship from the Hampton Wildlife Fund. Jacob was the 2nd overall finisher in the school division of the SCDNR Clay Sports competition on February 11, 2023. |

| Lights On Honoring the Class of 2020 | ||
| On April 20, 2020, at 8:20 PM (20:20 Military time) the PDA family participated in the nationwide "Be the Light" event as a way to pay tribute to the members of the Class of 2020 who had to miss their Senior year events to the COVID-19 pandemic. | ||
